SOLD! Upcoming Publications
On March 08, 2022, Weird Little Worlds announced a Kickstarter for their upcoming anthology Mother: Tales of Love and Terror, which easily funded, exceeding their original goal. Submissions were opened and I wrote a new story, specifically for this anthology. Last week, the editorial team informed me that they would like to publish my story. To say that I’m excited would be putting it mildly—despite being thematically important to me (much of my work centers around abusive mothers), the authors lined-up is stellar.

I’ve been a big fan of John Langan since reading The Fisherman, a fan of Gemma Files since her story in Nightmare’s Women Destroy Horror!, and a fan of Brian Evenson since reading A Collapse of Horses. We also met and chatted briefly during my Fall Convergence for my MFA at University of Washington Bothell, and he had this mic-dropping quote when the usual ‘literary’ folks were declaring that the novel was dead:

In addition to having my story selected for publication, I’m also on the editorial team. (All submissions were judged blind, however, and I was not involved with my story through the selection process.)
Before MOTHER, I sold a story to The Antihumanist, which appeared in their 4th edition. This one is dark as hell. I don’t recommend you actually be eating grapes while reading my story, “Grapes”…
A stranger told me my story gave her husband nightmares. That’s pretty metal.

I also sold a piece of flash to Flame Tree Press for their monthly newsletter, which I wrote while visiting a dear friend in Tucson. The story is titled The Lobby of the Hotel McCoy, takes places in that lobby, and is also the actual hotel that I stayed at. I sent it along to them when it was published, and they just thought that was the bee’s knees.
